A Life in Binary

This is a website that Strangeways’ Creative Director, Andrew Halliwell, made for himself as a place where he can present his portfolio of personal projects. He treats this site like his “digital sandbox”, so things tend to change quite frequently. The site uses jQuery masonry to display page excerpts much in the same way this site does. A simple but effective little trick is placing an animated GIF image behind a transparent PNG cutout for the header graphic. The animated GIF image has been around for 25+ years and this site subtly celebrates its applicability. Another cool hack seen in the footer is hiding the contact and social media area within a jQuery accordion. Once a user clicks the Contact button, there are expecting to be taken to another page entirely, but alas, a simple contact form and twitter feed were there all along.
